To link your Aadhaar card to your PAN card, you can follow these steps:
1. Visit the Income Tax e-Filing website: Go to the official Income Tax e-Filing website at https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/home.
2. Click on the "Link Aadhaar" option: Look for the "Quick Links" section on the left side of the website and click on the "Link Aadhaar" option.
3. Enter PAN, Aadhaar, and other details: A new page will open where you need to enter your PAN number, Aadhaar number, full name as per Aadhaar, and the captcha code displayed on the screen.
4. Check the details: Verify the details entered and ensure they match with the respective documents.
5. Click on the "Link Aadhaar" button: After verifying the details, click on the "Link Aadhaar" button.
6. Confirmation of successful linking: If the linking is successful, a message will be displayed confirming that your Aadhaar card has been successfully linked to your PAN card.
Note: In case any mismatch is found between the details on your Aadhaar card and PAN card, you will be required to make corrections in either document before proceeding with the linking process.
Alternatively, you can also link your Aadhaar card to your PAN card by sending an SMS to designated service numbers provided by the Income Tax Department:
- For sending an SMS from the registered mobile number, type UIDPAN<SPACE><12-digit Aadhaar><SPACE><10-character PAN> and send it to 567678 or 56161.
- For sending an SMS from any number other than the registered mobile number, type UIDPAN<SPACE><12-digit Aadhaar><SPACE><10-character PAN> and send it to 567678 or 56161.
Ensure that you have both your Aadhaar card and PAN card details readily available while attempting the linking process.
